Asa Branca station reopened after renovation - Rio City Hall The City of Rio de Janeiro, through Mobi-Rio, has renovated, reopened and revitalized 106 of the 125 stations since taking over management of the BRT system in March 2021. The teams that worked on the project took into account serious problems in the system, such as vandalism and evasion (default).
All points considered weak in the previous model have been changed. Improvements include replacing glass panels and doors with hollow steel plates; built-in wiring and armored door mechanisms; light and sound alarms on the doors, indicating when they are opening and closing; and automatic door locks.
The works included closing access to the station ceiling and roof. The services performed also included internal and external painting, new electrical installations and visual programming, improved lighting and the installation of guardrails.
Operation of the digital ticketing system will begin in the first half of 2023
