Municipal health network has 1.297 more doctors than the previous administration

The municipal health network saw an increase in the number of doctors - Archive/City of Rio Since the beginning of the administration, the Municipal Health Department has been making constant efforts to restructure the health teams, both in Primary Care and in the hospital network. Several selection processes for hiring professionals have been opened in these two years, through the Public Health Company (RioSaúde) and the organizations that manage the units.
The municipal network currently has 1.297 more doctors compared to December 2020. The new doctors work in both hospitals and maternity wards as well as in Primary Care units (family clinics and municipal health centers). Other professionals such as nurses and nursing technicians, psychologists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, social workers and community health agents, among others, were also hired for the network.
