- The Rio de Janeiro City Hall's initiative at Vasco da Gama's headquarters offers CadMóvel Carioca (a mobile vocational training center) and free spots in vocational courses.
SMAS service allows low-income residents to register and update their data in the CadÚnico system to obtain social benefits - Mariana Rocha The São Januário stadium, home to one of Brazil's most popular clubs, in the Vasco da Gama neighborhood, North Zone of Rio, hosted the CadMóvel Carioca this Tuesday (June 30th). This mobile service from the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance (SMAS) provides registration and data updates for the Unified Registry (CadÚnico), without prior appointment. This time, the initiative also offered the possibility of finding vacancies in free professional qualification courses offered by Firjan SENAI in partnership with the Rio City Hall, through SMAS.
Sâmila Vitória Cândido Pereira, 27, a resident of Barreira do Vasco, a community near the stadium, took advantage of two opportunities at once. She picked up one of the tickets distributed starting at 9 am and was one of the 21 heads of household who registered for the CadÚnico (another 62 updated their registration data, totaling 83 services). In addition, the young woman registered for two of the many courses with open spots offered by Firjan SENAI for those who want to learn a profession. (More information can be found on the internet).
– I thought this initiative here at Vasco was great, and I came to register for the Unified Registry (CadÚnico) to be eligible for benefits. Then I saw that there were options for vocational courses. I've always worked in the restaurant sector, as a waitress, and I became interested in the pizza maker and baker courses because now I want to work in the kitchen – said Sâmila.
Nearly six thousand consultations
Created to decentralize the services of the Unified Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) for social programs, the CadMóvel Carioca brings social assistance policies closer to the most vulnerable communities and facilitates access to federal government benefits, such as Bolsa Família, ID Jovem, and the Social Electricity Tariff, among others. Since the program began in April of last year, 5.913 families have already benefited from 42 events held throughout the city.
In addition to updating and registering for CadÚnico — on a first-come, first-served basis and without the need to schedule an appointment via 1746 or the website cadunico.rio, nor to travel to a CadRio center — the public can also receive guidance on obtaining social benefits. To register or update their data, the head of the family needs to bring an official photo ID, CPF (Brazilian tax identification number), voter registration card, work permit, and proof of residence, as well as the CPF of all other family members.
In São Januário, the event took place on the futsal court. Services offered included notary services for issuing certificates and the Federal Revenue Service for issuing duplicate CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID) documents.
The CadMóvel Carioca schedule is regularly posted on the Instagram account of the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance: @smas.rio.
