The 4th Social Assistance Coordination, where the Maré Complex is located, will receive this Friday (08/04) the Volante Assistance, a program of the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance (SMAS) that is part of an emergency action plan to respond to the increased demand in CadÚnico (federal income transfer programs). The region was the champion of registrations from November 2021 to February of this year.

The goal of Assistência Volante is to be present in the most vulnerable communities in Rio, in strategic locations close to them. The population also has access to 47 CRAS (reference centers) spread throughout the city.

According to the municipal secretary of Social Assistance, Maria Pucú, after the 4th CAS, Assistência Volante should reach the 8th CAS, where 18 thousand families made their CadÚnico from November to February.

These emergency actions are being planned based on two itinerant SMAS programs, Cariocad and Assistência em Movimento, which already provide a range of services in Rio's favelas and communities. The difference is that Assistência Volante's schedule is defined daily, according to the most urgent demand.

The mobile station in the Maré region will operate at the Dilermando Cruz Municipal School (Avenida Teixeira de Castro, 407, Bonsucesso), starting at 9 am. From Monday to Friday, the department will announce the mobile station for the following day.
