Photo: Renan Areias / SMAS The “CadMóvel Carioca – Connecting to Rights” surpassed 5,000 services provided during its action on Thursday (March 26th) at the São Dimas Parish in Padre Miguel, West Zone of Rio. Created in April 2025, the itinerant service of the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance of Rio (SMAS) reduces distances and brings vulnerable people closer to obtaining social benefits. Every week, in a different neighborhood, it offers opportunities to register or update data in the Single Registry (CadÚnico), without the need for scheduling and without the interested party needing to travel to one of the ten CadRio agencies existing in the municipality. Service numbers are distributed at 9 am, and simply being at the location is enough to take advantage of the opportunity.
Over 35 editions, 5.159 families in all regions of the city have benefited, starting to receive or maintaining social benefits such as Bolsa Família and the Elderly Person's Card, among others, thanks to the initiative. This Thursday, in Padre Miguel, there were 132 services provided: 18 for registration in the CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs) and 114 for data updates.
– In this project, people are seen on the same day, without needing an appointment. And the service takes an average of 15 to 20 minutes. We have completed more than 5 walk-in appointments! That's 5 people who came spontaneously and were seen – highlighted the Municipal Secretary of Social Assistance, Martha Rocha.

One of the beneficiaries was Vitória Silva Barroso de Almeida, 23 years old. A resident of Padre Miguel and mother of Gael, 4 months old, she took advantage of the event near her home to update her information in the CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs).
"My mother saw on Instagram that this event was happening, and I came to update my registration. I found everything very well organized, and I received excellent assistance," she praised.
SMAS publishes the service schedule on its Instagram profile (https://www.instagram.com/smas.rio/For assistance, whether registering or updating data in the CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs), it is important to bring the CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID) numbers of all members of the beneficiary family, in addition to presenting the following original documentation from the family head: official photo ID; CPF; voter registration card; work permit; and proof of residence.
25 years of Cadùnico
The event in Padre Miguel celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Unified Registry. Several service packages were offered: CPF for All, from the Federal Revenue Service; flu vaccination, from the Municipal Health Department (SMS); and registration for courses at the Women's Center; in addition to a tent from the Maria Thereza Freire Moura CRAS, from Bangu, a reference for the region, and the Community Service, with activities to entertain children while their parents were being assisted.
The first edition of CadMóvel Carioca took place in the Faz Quem Quer community, in Rocha Miranda, North Zone, on April 3rd of last year. On that occasion, 134 services related to CadÚnico were provided. Over almost a year, the service has grown and spread.
