CadMóvel arrives in Engenho da Rainha and provides services to over 3.700 low-income individuals.

The "CadMóvel Carioca – Connecting to Rights" visited Engenho da Rainha, in the North Zone, on Thursday (October 9th), with 51 appointments for new registrations and 128 for updating data in the Single Registry (CadÚnico). In total, 179 people were reached, and since April of this year, when the weekly itinerant service of the Rio Municipal Social Assistance Secretariat (SMAS) began, 3.719 citizens began receiving or were able to maintain their social benefits, thanks to the initiative.
At this 23rd edition, at Engenho da Rainha, 42-year-old housewife Esther Pessanha, a resident of Cavalcanti, also in the North Zone, was one of the first to arrive. The 200 tickets were distributed at 9 a.m.
"I thought the event was well organized, and I arrived early. It's great because you don't even need to make an appointment; you just come and get a ticket," he praised.
Valéria Romero, a 26-year-old Pedagogy student and daycare worker, had an added comfort: she lives on the same street where the action took place.
"We really need initiatives like this. In my case, it was great because I updated my data (in CadÚnico) right near my home," he said.
Also a resident of Engenho da Rainha, Daiana Cristina Lage, a 34-year-old housewife, highlighted the social reach of the service:
– There are many people in very vulnerable situations here in the region, and this visit from CadMóvel will certainly help those in need.
The neighborhoods visited
Every week, CadMóvel Carioca visits a different neighborhood in the city to provide services related to CadÚnico and facilitate access for low-income individuals to social benefits such as Bolsa Família, Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC), and Senior Citizen Card, among others. The calendar of activities is published on SMAS's Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/smas.rio/).
The service has already been carried out in Rocha Miranda, Cosmos, Penha Circular, Governor's Island, Madureira, Botafogo, Senator Vasconcelos, Mangueira, Engenho Novo, Estácio, Flag Square, Pavuna, Penha, Santa Cruz, City of God, Engenho de Dentro, Padre Miguel, Tijuca, Rio das Pedras, Guaratiba, Vasco da Gama, Recreio and Engenho da Rainha.
For assistance, both in the case of registration and updating data in CadÚnico, it is important to bring the CPFs of all members of the beneficiary family, in addition to presenting the following original documentation of the family member: official document with photo; CPF; voter registration card; work card; and proof of residence.
