The Rio Municipal Department of Social Welfare (SMAS) held another edition of “CadMóvel Carioca – Connecting to rights” this Thursday (24/04). This time, the itinerant service, offered weekly, for the population to register or update their data in the Single Registry (Cadúnico) took place at the Reaprender Socio-Educational Institute (GEID), in Freguesia, Ilha do Governador. 164 services were provided. In total, since the implementation of the program, in early April, more than 600 people have benefited.

CadMóvel Carioca is an initiative to facilitate access by vulnerable people to social benefits such as Bolsa Família, Carteira do Idoso and Minha Casa Minha Vida, among others, all obtained through CadÚnico. The next event will be held on May 1st, Labor Day, at Parque Madureira, also in the city's North Zone. As usual, tickets will be distributed at 9 am.

– Instead of people going to the service, SMAS brings the service to the population. This is the special care of CadMóvel. With it, SMAS brings opportunities to serve the population to the territory. Our job is to make the lives of people who need our services more fair – said the municipal secretary of Social Welfare, Martha Rocha, during the event on the Island.

Housewife Janaíne da Silva, 33, who lives on Ilha do Governador, took advantage of the presence of CadMóvel near her home to update her data in Cadúnico. Of the total of 164 calls, 112 were for updating and another 52 for opening a new registration.

– It made my life a lot easier, and it was a great help to all of us here in the neighborhood. I’m a single mother, and I’m always rushing around to take care of my son and take him to school, for example. Being able to update my registration near home was a gift for me – said Janaíne.

As on previous occasions – in the Faz Quem Quer community, in Rocha Miranda; in Cosmos, in the West Zone; and in Penha Circular – the Ministry of Social Security offered services for consulting INSS registration, simulating retirement and issuing Social Security documents. The Ministry, a partner of SMAS in the action, also brought technicians to answer questions from the population about the Meu INSS website and app and provide guidance on benefits and their concession rules.
