Registration is open for 314 places in free professional qualification courses offered by Firjan Senai in the second semester of 2026. The initiative is the result of a partnership between the City of Rio, through the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance (SMAS), under the coordination of the Sub-Secretariat of Institutional Relations (Subri), and Firjan Senai.
The action aims to expand opportunities for professional qualification and strengthen the inclusion of users of the social assistance network in the labor market, contributing to income generation and promoting the autonomy of families served by social assistance policy.
Among the courses offered are training programs in the areas of food, industry, and maintenance, such as baker, confectioner, pizza maker, building electrician, motorcycle mechanic, and welder, in addition to other professional training options.
Classes will be held at the Firjan Senai units in Tijuca, Rodrigues Alves, Jacarepaguá, Maracanã, and Vila Isabel.
Registrations
Residents of the city of Rio de Janeiro who are at least 18 years old—or 16 years old, depending on the requirements of some courses—and have completed at least elementary school are eligible to apply.

After registration, candidates must go to the Firjan Senai unit where the course will be held, presenting an identity document, CPF (Brazilian tax identification number), proof of residence, proof of schooling, and the registration confirmation issued by the system. Places will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis; online registration does not guarantee a place.
The courses and learning materials are completely free. Upon completion of the training, students who achieve a minimum attendance of 75% will receive a certificate valid throughout the national territory.
The partnership between SMAS and Firjan Senai integrates the actions of the Rio de Janeiro City Hall aimed at promoting productive inclusion, expanding the population's access to qualification opportunities and strengthening pathways for insertion and permanence in the world of work.
