- City General Archive will gain a new visual identity
A competition will choose the new visual identity of the General City Archive - Fabio Motta/City Hall of Rio The year is new and so is the look. The General Archive of the City of Rio de Janeiro, an agency linked to the Municipal Secretariat of Government and Public Integrity (Segovi), has opened a contest to choose the institution's future brand. Applications are open until February 18, and design offices, designer cooperatives and/or graphic artist collectives, as well as other types of legal entities that have proven themselves eligible for public selection, are eligible to participate.
Required documents, available using this link, must be delivered to the Segovi Protocol, on the 15th floor of the São Sebastião Administrative Center, headquarters of the City Hall.
A committee will select 20 contestants who must present their conceptual vision for the project. The two best-qualified entrants in this stage will receive R$5 each and will have to develop the logo concept design. The winner will sign a transfer contract worth R$10. The new visual identity will be launched in April.
Located in Cidade Nova, the General Archive holds historical documents, such as the minutes of the Municipal Chamber of the Dia do Fico, photos from the Malta Collection and the statute of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Rosary and Saint Benedict of the Black Men, a rare work.
