Palco Rio, in Copacabana, received the final adjustments for the New Year's Eve 2025 party - The Biggest New Year's Eve in the World - Marcos de Paula/ Rio City Hall

Everything is ready for the Biggest New Year's Eve in the World. Mayor Eduardo Paes visited the Rio stage in Copacabana on Monday morning (30/12), where the 2025 New Year's Eve party will take place. The Rio stage is the largest of the three on the beach. In addition to the shows, there will be a 12-minute fireworks show and a laser ballet to open the countdown to 2025. The structures are receiving the final adjustments for the party.

There will be 10 more stages throughout the city, with highlights including the recently opened Parque Oeste (Inhoaíba) and Parque Realengo Susana Naspolini. An unforgettable celebration, bringing together music, art and culture, transforming the city into a great stage of joy and excitement, awaits the locals and visitors next year, when more than 55 acts will perform, including Maria Bethânia and Caetano, Ivete and Anitta.

This year there will be three stages in Copacabana: the Leme stage is back (with programming for the gospel audience), in addition to the Palco Rio (the main one, which will be mostly in LED) and the Samba stage (in the shape of a tambourine).

– I am sure that we will have an incomparable celebration. It has been a long time since we have had a line-up like we will have for this New Year's Eve, which starts with Caetano and Bethânia, followed by Lvete Sangalo and Anitta, a high-quality party that is free for the entire population. There will be a party spread throughout the city. Those who do not come to Copacabana will be able to enjoy New Year's Eve close to home. It will be a day of great peace and celebration. The city is full, Rio is a special place – said the mayor.

The fireworks show will take place at five points in the city: Copacabana, with ten rafts, lasting 12 minutes; Flamengo, Penha, Parque Oeste and Parque Realengo.

But even before the fireworks, when the New Year's Eve soundtrack starts playing, an unprecedented light show will illuminate Copacabana. On each of the 20 sound towers positioned along the waterfront, there will be a ballet of lasers opening the countdown to 2025 and the fireworks show. Paes also spoke about the legacy of major events, such as the New Year's Eve party, for the city.

– In addition to this R$3,2 billion that impacts the economy, whether in hotels, bars, restaurants, commerce or employment in general, there is also an intangible legacy, which is the brand, the image of Rio de Janeiro around the world. All the TV stations and news agencies, when they broadcast our New Year's Eve, show that we are keeping the flame of the city that is desired by the entire world alive – said the mayor, who will celebrate his fourth term in office in Copacabana.
