CET-Rio announces that this Sunday (October 12th) the Kids and Family Run and Walk will be held, starting at 7:30 am, at Aterro do Flamengo. The sporting event will take place along Avenida Infante Dom Henrique and Avenida das Nações Unidas. To facilitate the sporting event, there will be road closures in the South Zone region.

CET-Rio agents and traffic advisors will guide drivers and maintain traffic flow. CET-Rio technicians at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio) will monitor all traffic movements using cameras to make adjustments to traffic signal schedules if necessary to ensure good traffic conditions in the region.

The races will start on Avenida Infante Dom Henrique (Aterro), in front of the Monument to the Dead of World War II. The route will follow the track towards the South Zone until Avenida das Nações Unidas (Enseada).

To facilitate the event, Avenida Infante Dom Henrique will be closed starting at midnight on Sunday, along the stretch corresponding to the leisure area. Avenida das Nações Unidas, along the stretch corresponding to Enseada de Botafogo, will be closed at 4 a.m. in both directions.

Prohibitions

Sunday – 12/10

– Aterro do Flamengo, from midnight to 6 pm, end of opening hours for the leisure area
– United Nations Avenue (Enseada), from 4am to 11am

During the event, restrictions will be implemented along the route of the event, with access to Marina da Glória being free.

 

GIRL POWER RUN

CET-Rio announces that this Sunday (October 12th) the Girl Power Run will be held, with 5 km and 10 km courses. The starts will take place at 7 am at Posto 2 on Avenida Atlântica, in Copacabana, and on Avenida Vieira Souto, in Ipanema. To make the race possible, the following closures will be in place:

Sunday, 12/10

– Avenida Atlântica, waterfront lane, will be brought forward from 3am to 18pm (end of leisure area)
– Avenida Vieira Souto, waterfront lane, will be brought forward to 4:30 am until 18 pm (end of leisure area)
– Rua Francisco Otaviano, right side next to the cycle path, between Av. Nossa Senhora de Copacabana and Av. Vieira Souto, from 4:30 am to 9 am

Parking ban

From 18pm on Friday (10/10) to 12pm on Sunday:

– Avenida Atlântica, in the building lane, in the two bays at 90º, between Rua Júlio de Castilhos and Rua Joaquim Nabuco
