Avenida Niemeyer will be partially closed this Thursday for public lighting maintenance

Photo: Richard Santos / Rio City Hall CET-Rio informs that some sections of Avenida Niemeyer will be partially closed in the direction of Leblon this Thursday (July 24th), from 7 p.m. to 23 a.m., for street lighting maintenance. To carry out the work, one lane of the road will be closed to vehicle traffic. Traffic will be diverted in the same lane through a stop-and-go operation, maintaining traffic in both directions.
Drivers are advised to prioritize alternative routes during the partial closure, such as the Zuzu Angel and Acústico Rafael Mascarenhas tunnels.
The traffic operation will involve CET-Rio agents and traffic advisors, who will work to maintain traffic flow and guide drivers. Traffic light timings will be adjusted to improve flow on alternative routes and the region's main traffic corridors.
The same traffic plan is scheduled for July 31st and August 7th, between 23pm and 4am.
The program may be suspended at any time due to weather conditions or operational issues in the city.
