Carnival 2022: See the special traffic scheme for the Sapucaí and Intendente Magalhães parades

Carnival in Intendente Magalhães. Alexandre Macieira / Archive / Riotur CET-Rio has prepared a special traffic plan for the 2022 Carnival parades at the Sambadrome and Estradada Intendente Magalhães. The public should be aware of the changes, and it is recommended to check the routes before traveling.
SEE HERE THE ENTIRE TRAFFIC SCHEDULE FOR THE SAMBÓDROMO PARADE
On the 20th, 21st, 22nd, 29th, 30th of this month and May 01st, starting at 17 pm, Estrada Intendente Magalhães, in Campinho, will host the parades of the Federation of Blocks, the Evaluation Group, the Bronze and Silver series and the access groups B and C, in the section between Rua Domingos Lopes and Rua Anália Franco.
To make the event possible, there will be closures according to the determined days and times, on the following roads:
20, 21 and 22/04, from 16pm to 05am
29/04, from 21h to 06h
30/04, from 18h to 06h
01/05, from 14pm to 23:59pm
• Intendente Magalhães Road, even-numbered lane, section between Domingos Lopes Street and Pereira de Figueiredo Street;
• Intendente Magalhães Road, odd-numbered lane, section between Anália Franco Street and Cândido Benício Street;
• Captain Couto Menezes Street, section between Maria José Street and Intendente Magalhães Road;
• Surroundings of the Farmers' Square;
• Carlos Xavier Street, section between Maria José Street and Intendente Magalhães Road;
• Conde de Linhares Street, section between Maria José Street and Intendente Magalhães Road;
• Araçuaí Street, section between Ana Teles Street and Intendente Magalhães Road;
• Cincinato da Silva Street, section between Ana Teles Street and Intendente Magalhães Road;
• Return of the intersection between Estrada Intendente Magalhães (central flowerbed) and Rua Pereira de Figueiredo.
To minimize potential impacts on traffic in the region, the traffic operation will involve 20 people, including City Hall agents and those hired by Riotur, who will work to maintain fluidity, prevent illegal parking, and organize intersections, in addition to guiding pedestrians and drivers.
Still with the aim of ensuring the fluidity of traffic, CET-Rio technicians located at the Rio Operations Center (COR) will monitor the event using cameras and, if necessary, adjustments will be made to the signals.
DEVIATIONS
• Vehicles coming from Intendente Magalhães Road and heading to the Negrão de Lima Viaduct will follow Ernani Cardoso Street, Padre Manso Street and the Negrão de Lima Viaduct;
• Vehicles coming from Domingos Lopes Street and heading to Valqueire will follow Maria José Street, Andrade Araújo Street, Maria José Street, Pereira de Figueiredo Street and Intendente Magalhães Road;
• Vehicles coming from Intendente Magalhães Road and heading to Largo de Campinho will follow Anália Franco Street, Pinto Telles Street, Cândido Benício Street and Largo do Campinho.

Note: Area for only small trucks to wait for the drums of the group that will be parading.
IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
• It is recommended to use public transport.
• Respect the instructions of traffic agents and all signage installed in the area.
• Respect parking bans.
• Drivers should, whenever possible, avoid driving on roads surrounding the event, especially the main roads, where there will be a greater concentration of people.
