CET-Rio makes changes to traffic at Maracanã for the Fluminense vs. Vasco game.

The Rio de Janeiro Traffic Engineering Company (CET-Rio) will implement a traffic operation this Wednesday (08/05) for the game between Fluminense and Vasco, for the Copa do Brasil, which will take place at 21:30 pm, at the Maracanã stadium. From 19 pm onwards, there will be traffic restrictions in the stadium area. In addition to the regulated areas with no parking, other roads will also have parking restrictions starting at 10 am on the day of the match.

The traffic plan will involve CET-Rio agents and traffic support personnel, operational vehicles, and motorcycles dedicated to traffic guidance. The operation will also include 13 variable message signs providing information on closure times and alternative routes. The entire operation will work to ensure road safety, traffic flow, keep intersections clear, and guide pedestrians, fans, and drivers.

Technicians from CET-Rio, at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio), will monitor all traffic movement through cameras so that, if necessary, adjustments can be made to the traffic light programming in order to guarantee good road conditions.

Prohibitions

From 19 AM to 2 AM the following day:

* Avenida Rei Pelé (Radial Oeste), lane towards the city center, between Rua São Francisco Xavier and Aldeia Maracanã/Museu do Índio;
* Professor Eurico Rabelo Street;
* Visconde de Itamarati Street, between São Francisco Xavier Street and Professor Eurico Rabelo Street;
* Isidro de Figueiredo Street;
* Artur Menezes Street;
* Conselheiro Olegário Street;
* Maracanã Avenue, in both directions, between São Francisco Xavier Street and Mata Machado Street;
* Access ramp from Avenida Rei Pelé to Avenida Maracanã, after Aldeia Maracanã/Museu do Índio;
* Mata Machado Street, between Paula Sousa Avenue and Maracanã Avenue;
* Oduvaldo Cozzi Viaduct, at all access points to Avenida Maracanã;
* Avenida Professor Manoel de Abreu, lane towards Praça da Bandeira, between Rua São Francisco Xavier and Avenida Rei Pelé;
* Dona Zulmira Street, between Professor Manoel de Abreu Avenue and São Francisco Xavier Street.

Bicycle path

Starting at 10 AM, sections of the bike path around the Maracanã Complex, near the stadium access gates, will be closed to allow for the installation of barriers to guide the public.

Traffic changes

From 19 AM to 2 AM the following day:

* Reversal of traffic direction on one lane of Rua Professor Eurico Rabelo, between Avenida Professor Manoel de Abreu and Gate 11B of the Maracanã Complex;
* Implementation of two-way traffic on Visconde de Itamarati Street, between São Francisco Xavier Street and Professor Eurico Rabelo Street;
* Implementation of two-way traffic on Isidro de Figueiredo Street.

From 10 AM to 2 AM the following day:

* Avenida Paula Sousa, left side, between Rua São Francisco Xavier and Rua Professor Eurico Rabelo;
* Professor Eurico Rabelo Street;
* Visconde de Itamarati Street, between São Francisco Xavier Street and Professor Eurico Rabelo Street;
* Isidro de Figueiredo Street;
* Artur Menezes Street;
* Conselheiro Olegário Street.

Coming from the Center and South Zone

* To get to Tijuca: use Avenida Paulo de Frontin and Rua Dr. Satamini, or follow Praça da Bandeira, Rua Pará or Rua Paraíba and then Rua Mariz e Barros;
* For Vila Isabel and Grajaú: use Avenida Paulo de Frontin and Rua Dr. Satamini, or follow Praça da Bandeira, Rua Pará or Rua Paraíba, Rua Mariz e Barros and then Rua Major Ávila and Rua Felipe Camarão;
* For the Greater Méier region: use Rua Visconde de Niterói.

Coming from Tijuca, Grajaú, Vila Isabel and surrounding areas

* For the city center and southern zone: use Rua Conde de Bonfim and Rua Haddock Lobo.

Coming from Greater Meier

* For the city center and southern zone: use Visconde de Niterói Street.
