CET-Rio alters traffic in Rio Comprido for Carnival operation at the Sambadrome.

The Rio de Janeiro Traffic Engineering Company (CET-Rio) will alter traffic in Rio Comprido, in the North Zone, due to the samba school parades at the Sambadrome. From 5 pm this Friday (February 13th) until 7:30 am on Wednesday (February 18th), several road changes will be in effect in the neighborhood, including alterations to bus routes. The scheme will be repeated next week, from 3 pm on Saturday (February 21st) until 8 am on Sunday (February 22nd).

A section of Avenida Paulo de Frontin will be blocked off in the direction of Avenida Francisco Bicalho, to allow for a U-turn towards Rua da Estrela.

Buses heading towards Rua da Estrela will have to detour via Rua Sampaio Viana. The bus stop for buses going to Rua da Estrela will be moved from Avenida Paulo de Frontin to Rua do Bispo.

In the direction of Avenida Francisco Bicalho, buses traveling along Avenida Paulo Frontin will not experience any route changes. Other buses heading towards the Rebouças Tunnel will continue to use the Avenida Paulo Frontin stop as usual.

Towards Avenida Francisco Bicalho: follow Rua Santa Alexandrina, Rua Campos da Paz, Avenida Paulo Frontin and Avenida Francisco Bicalho

Towards the city center/Botafogo (except buses): follow Rua Estrela and Rua Itapiru.

From Praça da Bandeira/Tijuca: follow Rua Santa Alexandrina, Rua Campos da Paz, Avenida Paulo Frontin and the viaduct to Praça da Bandeira.
