CET-Rio alters traffic patterns to allow for the continuation of works on the Campo Grande Mobility Plan.

The Rio de Janeiro Traffic Engineering Company (CET-Rio) will implement a special traffic scheme to allow for the continuation of drainage and urbanization works as part of the Campo Grande Mobility Plan, in the city's West Zone.

The works, carried out by the Municipal Infrastructure Department, will take place on sections of the Mendanha Road and will begin on Monday (February 23). The road is expected to reopen to vehicle traffic on March 6, after the completion of the work.

The road closures will occur daily, from 22 PM to 5 AM the following day, alternating and in stages:

• Mendanha Road, towards Guaratiba, in the section between Almirante Grenfell Street and Largo da Maçonaria. During the works, traffic will be diverted via Almirante Grenfell Street, Tenente Carneiro da Cunha Street and Guandu do Sapê Road.

• Estrada do Mendanha, towards Avenida Brasil, with one lane blocked at a time, near Largo da Maçonaria.

• Access from Estrada do Mendanha to Largo da Maçonaria, between Estrada do Mendanha and Estrada do Guandu do Sapê. Traffic will be diverted via Estrada do Mendanha, with a U-turn near Estrada da Posse.

Specific signage will be installed to guide drivers. In addition, CET-Rio agents and traffic operators will be present in the area to monitor road conditions and maintain traffic flow.

Technicians from CET-Rio, at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio), will monitor traffic flow via cameras and, if necessary, make adjustments to the traffic light programming to ensure good traffic conditions.

CET-Rio recommends that drivers use alternative routes during the construction period and emphasizes the importance of respecting the installed signage and the instructions of traffic officers.
