CET-Rio alters traffic flow due to roadworks on Rua da Carioca, in the city center.

CET-Rio will implement a traffic operation in the city center on Saturday (July 18th) and Sunday (July 19th), from 7 am to 5 pm, to carry out works on Rua da Carioca, which will be closed between Avenida República do Paraguai and Rua Uruguaiana. The road intervention is necessary to enable the execution of works carried out by the Municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure.

With the road closure, vehicle traffic will be diverted via Avenida República do Paraguai, from where it will continue along Rua Visconde de Maranguape and Rua do Passeio, towards Castelo. The entire area will have specific signage to guide drivers and pedestrians about the changes. In addition, CET-Rio agents and traffic operators will be working in the region to monitor road conditions and maintain traffic flow.

Technicians from CET-Rio, at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio), will monitor traffic flow via cameras and, if necessary, will make adjustments to the traffic light programming to maintain traffic flow in the area. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes, such as Avenida Presidente Vargas, and to pay attention to the signage and instructions from traffic officers.
