CET-Rio anticipates road closure at Aterro do Flamengo for the RJ 2026 Circuit.

CET-Rio will implement a traffic operation on Avenida Infante Dom Henrique (Aterro do Flamengo) and Avenida das Nações Unidas, in Enseada de Botafogo, this Sunday (02/08), for the Circuito RJ 2026 race – 2nd Stage (Forró Stage). The start is scheduled for 7 am, at Aterro do Flamengo, in front of the Monument to the Dead of the Second World War, and the course will follow the leisure area track to Enseada de Botafogo.

To facilitate the sporting event, the closure to vehicle traffic on Flamengo Park will begin at midnight on Sunday and will continue until 18 pm, the closing time for the recreational area. The closure of Avenida das Nações Unidas, in Botafogo Cove, will take place from 3 am to 11 am.

The operation will involve agents from CET-Rio (Rio de Janeiro's traffic management company), the Municipal Guard, and traffic support personnel who will guide drivers and pedestrians, in addition to monitoring by technicians at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio). Pedestrians should cross the street at safe and properly marked locations. Whenever possible, the recommendation is to use public transportation when traveling in the area.
