CET-Rio announces traffic plan for the Bimbo Global Race, at Aterro
Published on 27/09/2025 - 14:27 | UpdatedCET-Rio announces that the Bimbo Global Race 2025 will be held on Sunday (September 28th), with the start scheduled for 7:09 am, at Aterro do Flamengo. The sporting event will take place along Avenida Infante Dom Henrique and Avenida das Nações Unidas. To facilitate the sporting event, there will be road closures in the South Zone region.
The start will be on Avenida Infante Dom Henrique (Aterro), in front of the Monument to the Dead of World War II. The route will follow the track heading South to Avenida das Nações Unidas (Enseada), where the runners will return in front of Churrascaria Cruzeiro do Sul, re-entering the track heading Downtown to the starting point.
To make the event possible, Avenida Infante Dom Henrique will need to be closed, starting at 3 a.m. on Sunday (September 28th), in the section corresponding to the leisure area. Avenida das Nações Unidas, the section corresponding to Enseada de Botafogo, will be closed at 4 a.m., in both directions.
Prohibitions:
Sunday – 28/09
– Aterro do Flamengo, from 3 am to 18 pm, end of opening hours for the leisure area;
– United Nations Avenue (Enseada), from 4am to 11am.
During the event, restrictions will be implemented along the route of the event, with access to Marina da Glória being free.
CET-Rio agents and traffic advisors will be guiding drivers and maintaining traffic flow. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes.
IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
– Pedestrians must cross in safe, signposted locations.
– It is important that everyone follows the instructions of traffic officers and the signs installed in the area.
– The use of public transport as a means of transport.
