CET-Rio informs that on Sunday (12/10), the Teachers' Race will be held, with the start scheduled for 7 am, in the Sambadrome region and surrounding areas. To facilitate the sporting event, from 5 am there will be closures and parking prohibitions in the area.
Teams from CET-Rio and the Municipal Guard (GM-Rio) will monitor the entire movement with vehicles and motorcycles, guiding drivers and carrying out the necessary roadblocks.
CET-Rio technicians, at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio), will monitor all traffic movement through cameras so that, if necessary, adjustments can be made to the traffic light schedule with the aim of ensuring good traffic conditions in the region.
PROHIBITIONS
Sunday (12/10), from 5am to 12pm:
– President Vargas Avenue:
o Side lane, towards Candelária, in the section between Rua Carmo Neto and Avenida Passos;
the junction of the central lane to the side, in front of the Tia Ciata Municipal School;
the junction of the central lane to the side, in front of Avenida Tomé de Souza;
– Passos Avenue:
o A lane along the left edge, in the section between Avenida Presidente Vargas and Rua Buenos Aires;
– Buenos Aires Street:
the section between Avenida Passos and Praça da República;
– Republic Square:
the section between Avenida Presidente Vargas and Rua Buenos Aires;
o Total closure of the section between Rua Frei Caneca and Avenida Presidente Vargas;
– Moncorvo Filho Street:
the section between Rua General Caldwell and Praça da República;
– Santana Street:
the section between Rua Frei Caneca and Avenida Presidente Vargas;
– Gustavo Barroso Street:
o Its entire length;
– Benedito Hipólito Street:
the stretch between Carmo Neto Street and Marquês de Sapucaí Avenue;
– Salvador de Sá Avenue:
the stretch between Rua Frei Caneca and Travessa 11 de Maio;
– São Sebastião Viaduct:
o Right-hand lane, in the section between the access junction coming from Rua Benedito Hipólito and the access junction to Avenida Salvador de Sá;
– Access junction to Salvador de Sá Avenue:
Coming from the São Sebastião Viaduct.
PARKING BAN
On the roads described above, from 11 pm on Saturday (10/23) to 12 pm on Sunday (10/12).
IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
– Drivers are advised to use alternative routes and, if possible, move their journeys forward.
– Pedestrians must cross in safe, signposted locations.
– It is important that everyone follows the instructions of traffic officers and the signs installed in the area.
– The use of public transport as a means of transport.
