CET-Rio implements special traffic operation for the Triathlon World Cup this Sunday (02/08)

CET-Rio will implement a special traffic operation in Copacabana for the Triathlon World Cup. The sporting event will take place this Sunday (August 2nd), with changes to vehicle circulation and a parking ban in the area. The reversible lane implemented on Sundays and holidays on Avenida Atlântica, on the lane next to the buildings, will operate on its usual schedule, from 7 am to 6 pm.

The traffic operation will involve agents from CET-Rio (Rio de Janeiro's traffic management company), the Municipal Guard, and traffic operators to guide pedestrians and drivers, prevent illegal parking, and implement necessary road closures. Technicians at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio) will monitor road conditions for any potential impacts, and traffic light timings will be adjusted to improve traffic flow on alternative routes and main thoroughfares in the area.

CET-Rio recommends that drivers, whenever possible, avoid driving through the area during the road closures and use alternative routes. It is also important that drivers pay attention to the signage and the instructions of traffic officers.

Prohibitions

From midnight to 11 am on Sunday (02/08):

* Avenida Atlântica, the side with the buildings, in two traffic lanes next to the central reservation, in the section between Rua Joaquim Nabuco and Rua Siqueira Campos.

Anticipation of the Leisure Area

From 21am on Saturday (01/08):

* Avenida Atlântica, the lane next to the beach, in the section between Rua Francisco Otaviano and Rua Miguel Lemos;
* Rua Francisco Otaviano, in the section between Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana and Avenida Atlântica.

From 0am on Sunday (02/08):

* Avenida Atlântica, the lane next to the beach, in the section between Rua Miguel Lemos and Rua Siqueira Campos.

From 2am on Sunday (02/08):

* Avenida Atlântica, the lane next to the beach, in the section between Rua Siqueira Campos and Rua Rodolfo Dantas.

Parking ban

From 3 PM on Saturday (April 01th) to midnight on Sunday (April 02th):

* Rua Francisco Otaviano, left side, between Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana and Avenida Atlântica;
* Avenida Atlântica, the side with the buildings, between Rua Almirante Gonçalves and Rua Djalma Ulrich;
* Avenida Atlântica, the side with the buildings, between Rua Siqueira Campos and Rua Hilário de Gouveia.

From 18pm on Saturday (01/08) to 12pm on Sunday (02/08):

* Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, along the left side, between Rua Francisco Otaviano and Rua Figueiredo de Magalhães;
* Avenida Atlântica, the side with the buildings, between Rua Joaquim Nabuco and Rua Almirante Gonçalves;
* Avenida Atlântica, the side with the buildings, between Rua Djalma Ulrich and Rua Siqueira Campos.
