CET-Rio implements special traffic operation for Vasco x Santos match.

The Rio de Janeiro Traffic Engineering Company (CET-Rio) will implement a special traffic operation for the Vasco vs. Santos match in the Brazilian Championship, which takes place at 4 pm on Sunday (August 16th) at the São Januário stadium, in the Vasco da Gama neighborhood. Traffic closures will begin at 10 am on Francisco Palheta Street, between São Januário Street and Ricardo Machado Street; Roberto Dinamite Avenue, between Ricardo Machado Street and Dom Carlos Street; and Ferreira de Araújo Street, between Dulce Rosalina Street and Roberto Dinamite Avenue.

Starting at noon, other streets surrounding the stadium will be closed according to the operational plan. Teixeira Júnior Street, between Roberto Dinamite Avenue and São Januário Street, will have its direction reversed, operating from São Januário Street towards Roberto Dinamite Avenue. Bonfim Street, between Senador Alencar Street and Bela Street, will operate in both directions from noon to 7 pm. Parking will be prohibited from midnight on Sunday until the end of the match.

The traffic operation will involve CET-Rio agents and traffic support personnel, operational vehicles, and motorcycles dedicated to traffic guidance. Variable message signs will provide information about closure times and alternative routes.

Technicians from CET-Rio, working at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio), will monitor all traffic movement through cameras so that, if necessary, adjustments can be made to the traffic light programming in order to guarantee good road conditions.
