Riocentro will have a special traffic plan for the Biennial - Alexandre Macieira/City of Rio CET-Rio informs that it has set up a special traffic plan for the area around Riocentro, where the XX Rio Book Biennial will take place starting this Friday (3/12). To minimize any impacts on traffic in the region, an operation will be implemented that will involve 20 people per day, including CET-Rio employees, Municipal Guards and supporters, who will work to maintain fluidity, prevent illegal parking, organize intersections, and guide pedestrians and drivers.
Also with the aim of ensuring the flow of traffic, CET-Rio technicians working at the Rio Operations Center (COR) will monitor the event through cameras and, if necessary, will make adjustments to traffic light times. Five variable message panels will be used to inform drivers of traffic conditions and detour routes.
The event will take place at the following times:
– Friday (3/12): from 9 am to 22 pm;
– Saturday (4/12) and Sunday (5/12): from 10am to 22pm;
– Monday to Thursday (6, 7, 8 and 9/12): from 9am to 21pm;
– Friday (10/12): from 9am to 22pm;
– Saturday (11/12) and Sunday (12/12): from 10am to 22pm.
Recommendations
– Use public transport;
– Respect the places and times where parking is prohibited;
– Respect the signs and instructions of traffic agents;
– Pedestrians must cross at crosswalks, in traffic light locations or with the assistance of traffic agents;
– During the event, it is recommended that drivers in the region use the Av. das Américas and Av. Ayrton Senna routes to connect Recreio dos Bandeirantes and Linha Amarela, due to possible overloading of vehicles on Av. Salvador Allende and Av. Embaixador Abelardo Bueno.
