  • CET-Rio sets up special traffic plan for the São Sebastião Race on Monday

CET-Rio has set up a special traffic plan, starting at midnight on Monday (20/1), the city of Rio's patron saint holiday, to facilitate the São Sebastião Race, which will be held at Aterro do Flamengo and Enseada de Botafogo. Traffic will be closed along the entire stretch of Aterro do Flamengo and Enseada de Botafogo, as follows:

– From midnight: closure of Avenida Infante Dom Henrique, in both directions
– From 4am to 11am: Avenida das Nações Unidas will be closed in both directions
– From 4 am to 11 am: closure of Avenida Repórter Nestor Moreira.

The traffic operation will involve 58 traffic operators, who will work to maintain road safety, traffic flow, prevent illegal parking, organize intersections, guide pedestrians and drivers, and carry out roadblocks throughout the event. CET-Rio technicians at the Rio Operations Center will monitor traffic conditions for possible impacts and, if necessary, will make traffic light adjustments to maintain traffic flow.

CET-Rio emphasizes that the section related to the leisure area will be released to vehicle traffic at 18 pm, as occurs on Sundays and holidays.

Drivers are advised to prioritize using alternative routes during the closure, such as the Santa Bárbara and Rebouças tunnels.
