CET-Rio informs that, for the 5k, 10k, 21k (Half Marathon) and 42k (Rio Marathon) races, on Thursday (19/6), Friday (20/6), Saturday (21/6) and Sunday (21/6), a special traffic scheme will be implemented in the Center and South Zone. The interventions will begin on Thursday, Corpus Christi Day, for the 5k race at Aterro do Flamengo, which will be closed from midnight for the assembly of the race structures. This closure will remain in place until 0 pm on the same day for disassembly.

On Friday, the Aterro and Enseada de Botafogo tracks will be closed at midnight and 0 am, respectively, for the 4k race, starting at 10 am. The tracks will open at 7 am and close again at 11 pm on Friday, remaining closed until 22 pm on Sunday for the setup and running of the Rio Half Marathon and Marathon.

The traffic operation will involve 40 agents on Thursday, 60 on Friday, 220 on Saturday and 350 on Sunday, including CET-Rio employees, municipal guards and traffic supporters, who will work to ensure road safety, smooth traffic, prevent illegal parking, organize intersections, guide pedestrians and drivers, in addition to carrying out roadblocks throughout the entire period of the events.

Traffic conditions will be monitored for potential impacts, and traffic signal timings will be adjusted to maintain flow on alternative routes and major traffic corridors in the region. Fifteen variable message boards will be used to provide information on traffic conditions, road closures and detour routes.

The Rio Half Marathon and Marathon routes will have round trips, passing through the following neighborhoods: Leblon, Ipanema, Copacabana, Botafogo, Flamengo, Glória, Centro, Saúde, Gamboa, Santo Cristo and ending at Aterro do Flamengo. During the period of the sporting activity, the roads used by the athletes will remain closed to vehicle traffic.

Half Marathon: Start on Avenida Delfim Moreira

Route: Vieira Souto Avenue, Francisco Otaviano Street, Atlantic Avenue, Princess Isabel Avenue, Botafogo Bay, Flamengo Landfill, General Justo Avenue until Marechal Âncora Square, where it will return. The route follows the same itinerary along the same streets, with the race ending at Flamengo Landfill, near Marina da Glória.

Marathon: Start at Aterro do Flamengo – near Marina da Glória.

Route: General Justo Avenue, Alfred Agache Avenue, Expeditionary Square, President Antonio Carlos Avenue, First of March Street, Luiz Paulo Conde Prefecture Waterfront, Rodrigues Alves Avenue until the turnaround at Arlindo Rodrigues Street, at the height of Rivadávia Corrêa Street. Afterwards, it will follow Venezuela Avenue, Rio Branco Avenue, President Vargas Avenue, First of March Street, President Antonio Carlos Avenue, Almirante Barroso Avenue, Graça Aranha Avenue, President Wilson Avenue, President Antonio Carlos Avenue, Santa Luzia Street, Marechal Câmara Avenue, General Justo Avenue, Flamengo Landfill, Botafogo Cove, Princess Isabel Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Francisco Otaviano Street and Vieira Souto Avenue, until the turnaround at Delfim Moreira Avenue, at the height of Niemeyer Avenue.
