CET-Rio sets up special traffic scheme for Saint George's mass in Irajá
Published on 22/04/2024 - 11:24 | Updated on 18/04/2024 - 09:27CET-Rio informs that, starting at 4 am on Tuesday (23/4), the Saint George mass will take place at Praça Ferreira Souto, in Irajá. To make the event possible, it will be necessary to close the following roads, from 4 am to 12 pm:
– Fernandes Gusmão Street, section between Lima Sucupira Street and Marinho Pessoa Street;
– Manuel Wanderley Street, between Fernandes Gusmão Street and Marinho Pessoa Street;
– Bras de Andrade Melo Street, section between Jaçanã Street and Fernandes Gusmão Street
To minimize potential impacts on traffic in the region, the traffic operation will include CET-Rio agents, supporters and municipal guards, who will work to maintain fluidity, prevent illegal parking, carry out blockades and organize intersections, in addition to guiding pedestrians and drivers.
Still with the aim of ensuring the fluidity of traffic, CET-Rio technicians located at the Rio Operations Center (COR) will monitor the event through cameras and, if necessary, traffic light adjustments will be implemented.
Deviations
– Vehicles coming from Fernandes Gusmão Street and heading to Brasil Avenue will follow Marinho Pessoa Street, Lima Sucupira Street and Fernandes Gusmão Street, exiting at Brasil Avenue;
– Vehicles coming from Fernandes Gusmão Street, heading towards Estrada Grande Avenue, will follow Lima Sucupira Street, Torquato Cabral Street, Jaçanã Street, Juriti Street and Água Grande Road;

– There will be no parking available for the event. Therefore, it is recommended to use public transport;
– Drivers are advised to avoid passing through the area during the closure period, trying to arrive early or use alternative routes;
– Respect the instructions of traffic agents and all signage installed in the area.
