The Rio de Janeiro Traffic Engineering Company (CET-Rio) will implement a special traffic operation this Saturday (August 15th) for the Fluminense vs. Palmeiras match in the Brazilian Championship, which will take place at 4:30 PM at the Maracanã stadium. Starting at 2 PM, there will be traffic restrictions in the surrounding area and access to the stadium. In addition to regulated areas with no parking, other roads will have parking restrictions starting at 10 AM.

The operational plan will involve CET-Rio agents and traffic support personnel, as well as operational vehicles and motorcycles, who will work to guide traffic, ensure road safety, maintain traffic flow and keep intersections clear, and guide pedestrians, fans, and drivers. A total of 13 variable message signs will provide information about closure times and alternative routes.

Technicians from CET-Rio, at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio), will monitor all traffic movement through cameras so that, if necessary, adjustments can be made to the traffic light programming, with the aim of ensuring good road conditions.
