CET-Rio will implement a traffic plan this Sunday, April 20th, due to the State Triathlon Championship in the Aterro do Flamengo region, Centro and surrounding areas.
The event will feature three sports: swimming, cycling and running. The swimming will take place near Marina da Glória. The cycling event, which will start and finish at Aterro do Flamengo, near the accesses to the Marina, will run along roads in the city center and near Rio's bus station. The race will take place on the tracks at Aterro do Flamengo.
The traffic operation will include CET-Rio agents, Municipal Guards and traffic guides, who will work to maintain fluidity, prevent illegal parking, organize intersections, guide pedestrians and drivers, in addition to carrying out blockades during the event period.
CET-Rio technicians at the Rio Operations Center (COR) will monitor all traffic movements using cameras so that, if necessary, adjustments can be made to the traffic light schedule to ensure good road conditions. In addition, variable message panels will provide information on traffic conditions, closed roads and detour routes.

-Avenida General Justo, both directions, between Avenida Marechal Câmara and Avenida Alfred Agache;
-Avenida General Justo, internal lane, from the intersection with Rua Santa Luzia, until access to the main lane.
-Marcello Alencar Tunnel, both directions;
-Avenida Alfred Agache (including the inner lane), both directions;
-Rodrigues Alves Avenue, towards the South Zone, between Francisco Bicalho Avenue and the Marcello Alencar Tunnel;
-Access junction to Avenida Rodrigues Alves, coming from the Gasômetro viaduct;
-Marechal Âncora Square, towards Jacob do Bandolim Street;
-Expeditionary Square, on the road towards Alfredo Agache Avenue;
-Jacob do Bandolim Street;
-Rua Dom Manuel, between Rua Jacob do Bandolim and Alley of Music;
-Music Alley, between Dom Manuel Street and Luiz Soares Dantas Square;
-Luiz Soares Dantas Square, between the Music Alley and the Expeditionary Square;
Expeditionary Square, via direction Alfredo Agache Avenue;
The Porto Competition Cyclist Protection Area (APCC) – Marcos Hama Circuit, will be suspended, as the cycling modality will be held in the same section of the APCC.
IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
-The public should give preference to public transport;
-Avoid driving around the area where the sporting event will take place.
-Pedestrians must cross at signposted locations or use walkways and underground passages to cross Aterro do Flamengo;
-It is important to pay attention to the instructions of traffic agents and the signs installed in the region.
