  • CET-Rio conducts operation for Night Run race in the Sambadrome area.
The Apotheosis Square - Fabio Motta / Rio City Hall

CET-Rio will carry out a traffic operation to facilitate the "Night Run Race", which takes place from 7 pm this Saturday (April 25th) in the Sambadrome area and surroundings. Traffic closures will begin at 3 pm on several streets in the city center, such as the side lane of Avenida Presidente Vargas and the streets Benedito Hipólito, Julio do Carmo and Afonso Cavalcanti, among others.

Starting at 4 PM, the 31 de Março Viaduct, Salvador de Sá Avenue, and Frei Caneca Street will also be closed. The closures will last until midnight on Sunday (April 26th), when the roads will be reopened to vehicle traffic. Parking will also be prohibited on these roads.

The operation will involve traffic teams from CET-Rio and the Municipal Guard, as well as traffic support personnel hired by the production team, to ensure road safety and traffic flow throughout the sporting event.

CET-Rio technicians, at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio), will monitor all traffic movement through cameras so that, if necessary, adjustments can be made to the traffic light schedule to ensure good road conditions.
