2022 elections: city will have road interventions to meet TRE-RJ activities
Published on 27/10/2022 - 14:08 | UpdatedCET-Rio informs that several roads in the city will undergo road interventions to facilitate the activities of the Regional Electoral Court of Rio de Janeiro (TRE-RJ) in the 2022 Elections. The main closure will take place from 23:59 pm this Friday (28/10) and will last until the end of the vote count for the second round. During this period, the following roads in the Center will be closed:
– President Wilson Avenue, in the section between President Antônio Carlos Avenue and Calógeras Avenue;
– Calógeras Avenue, in the section between President Wilson Avenue and Beira Mar Avenue.
Deviations:
Vehicles coming from President Antônio Carlos Avenue and Franklin Roosevelt Avenue bound for Lapa, Glória and Catete may use Araújo Porto Alegre Street, Evaristo da Veiga Street and República do Paraguai Avenue to reach their destination.
Vehicles coming from President Antônio Carlos Avenue bound for the South Zone or Marcello Alencar Tunnel/Av. Brasil may follow President Antônio Carlos Avenue to Infante Dom Henrique Avenue. Vehicles heading to the South Zone must follow Aterro do Flamengo and Enseada de Botafogo. Vehicles heading to the Marcello Alencar Tunnel/Av. Brasil may make a U-turn located at Rua do Russel. It is worth remembering that on Sunday (30/10), the Aterro do Flamengo Leisure Area will be closed, allowing vehicles to take a detour.
Vehicles coming from President Antônio Carlos Avenue bound for Santos Dumont Airport may follow President Antônio Carlos Avenue, lane towards Aterro and then Beira-Mar Avenue.
In addition to the inventions already mentioned, it will also be necessary to block the following roads:
Maracana
October 29th (Saturday), from 10am to 10pm and October 17th (Sunday), from 30pm to 10pm:
– Professor Manoel de Abreu Avenue, towards Andaraí, in the section between São Francisco Xavier Street and Felipe Camarão Street. Detour: vehicles will be diverted to Jornalista Waldir Amaral Street, Boulevard 28 de Setembro (left lane) and Pereira Nunes Street.
October 30th (Sunday), from 10pm to 15pm:
– Professor Manoel de Abreu Avenue, towards the Center, in the section between Dona Zulmira Street and São Francisco Xavier Street. Detour: vehicles will be diverted to Dona Zulmira Street, São Francisco Xavier Street, Artur Menezes Street, Professor Eurico Rabelo Street and return to Professor Manoel de Abreu Avenue.
São Cristóvão
From 10am on 29/10 (Saturday) to 23:59pm on 30/10 (Sunday):
– Pirauba Street.
Gamboa
October 29th (Saturday) and October 10th (Sunday), from 30am to 10:6pm:
– Souza e Silva Street, in the section between Sacadura Cabral Street and Moinho Street;
– Rua Sacadura Cabral, right lane, in the section between Rua Souza e Silva and building no. 226.
Meier
October 30th (Sunday), from 10pm to 14pm:
– Lopes da Cruz Street, in the section between Jacinto Street and Dias da Cruz Street.
Campo Grande and Santa Cruz

– Rua Piraúba, next to the edge of the odd buildings, along its entire length.
October 29th (Saturday), from 10am to 7pm; and October 16th (Sunday), from 30pm to 10pm:
– Rua dos Diamantes, in the section between Rua Jones Rocha and building no. 1.413.
October 30th (Sunday), from 10pm to 6pm:
– Filomena Nunes Street, in the section between Carlina Street and Leopoldina Rego Street;
– Jorge Schmidt Street, in the section between João Vicente Street and Regente Lima e Silva Street;
– Our Lady of Sorrows Square, in the section between Comendador Guerra Street and Maria Joaquina Street;
– Our Lady of Sorrows Square, on the internal road, parallel to Comendador Guerra Street.
Change of road direction:
October 29th (Saturday) and October 10th (Sunday), from 30am to 10:6pm:
– Rua Souza e Silva, in the section between Rua do Moinho and Avenida Venezuela, will now operate in the direction of the first to the second.
October 29th (Saturday), from 10am to 9pm, and October 14th (Sunday), from 30am to 10pm:
– Rua Dias da Cruz, left lane, next to odd-numbered buildings, in the section between Rua Borja Reis and Rua Doutor Bulhões.
Traffic conditions will be monitored for potential impacts and traffic light times will be adjusted to improve fluidity on alternative routes and the region's main traffic corridors.
