The Itamar Franco elevated highway and tunnels will be closed this Tuesday for maintenance.

The Rebouças Tunnel will be closed, starting at 10 PM this Tuesday (December 9th), in the direction of Lagoa, for maintenance. Reopening is scheduled for 5 AM this Wednesday (December 10th). During the closure, vehicle traffic will follow a reversible lane to the left in the direction of the city center, operating towards the South Zone. The other two lanes will operate in the direction of the city center.

The Santa Bárbara Tunnel will be closed in the Santo Cristo direction from 22 PM to 5 AM for maintenance. The tunnel in the Laranjeiras direction will operate normally.

The Vice-President of the Republic José Alencar Tunnel will be closed in the Santa Cruz direction from 23 PM to 4 AM for maintenance. Vehicles heading towards Santa Cruz will be diverted via Serra da Grota Funda (Avenida Artur Xexéo). BRT buses heading to Santa Cruz should use the opposite tunnel lane. Buses that normally use the lane in the Barra direction will continue on the common lane.

The Presidente Itamar Franco Elevated Highway and the Luiz Jacques de Moraes and Paulo César Marcellino Figueiredo tunnels will be closed from 23 PM to 4:30 AM for maintenance. The alternative route for drivers will be via the upper deck of the Bandeiras Elevated Highway, which will be operating in the direction of Barra.

In all scheduled road closures, there will be specific signage to guide and alert drivers. CET-Rio operators will monitor traffic conditions and intervene if necessary. In addition, traffic light timings will be adjusted to improve traffic flow on the detour route and main thoroughfares in the affected areas.
