Elevated roads and tunnels will be closed on Tuesday for maintenance.

The lower level of the Elevado das Bandeiras will be closed in the direction of São Conrado - Photo: Rio City Hall The Engenheiro Freyssinet (over Avenida Paulo de Frontin) and Rufino Pizarro elevated roads will be closed for maintenance work, in the direction of the North Zone, this Tuesday (March 10th), from 11:30 PM to 5:00 AM on Wednesday (March 11th). As an alternative route, drivers should follow Avenida Paulo de Frontin.
The lower deck of the Elevado das Bandeiras will be closed in the direction of São Conrado, from 11 pm this Tuesday (March 10th) to 4:30 am on Wednesday (March 11th) for maintenance. The Barra da Tijuca-São Conrado connection will be made via the upper deck.
The Zuzu Angel and Acústico Rafael Mascarenhas tunnels will be closed in the direction of São Conrado, from 11 pm this Tuesday (March 10th) to 5 am on Wednesday (March 11th), for maintenance work. The main alternative route is Avenida Niemeyer.
The Vice-President of the Republic José Alencar Tunnel will be closed this Tuesday (March 10th), in the direction of Santa Cruz, from 11 PM to 4 AM on Wednesday (March 11th), for maintenance. Vehicles heading towards Santa Cruz will be diverted via Serra da Grota Funda (Avenida Artur Xexéo). BRT buses heading to Santa Cruz should use the opposite tunnel lane. Buses that normally use the lane in the direction of Barra will continue on the common lane for all vehicles.
In all scheduled road closures, there will be specific signage to guide and alert drivers. CET-Rio operators will monitor traffic conditions and intervene if necessary. In addition, traffic light timings will be adjusted to improve traffic flow on the detour route and main corridors in the affected areas.
