The Rio de Janeiro Municipal Guard has prepared a special operational plan for two events that will take place in the Southwest and West Zones of the city next weekend, on May 16th and 17th. The actions will cover the concert by singer Luan Santana, scheduled for Saturday (May 16th) at the Olympic Park in Barra Olímpica; and the MUSAL AirShow 2026, held on both days of the weekend (May 16th and 17th) at the Aerospace Museum in Campos dos Afonsos, Realengo. A total of 150 municipal guards will be deployed.
For the Luan Santana concert, which will take place starting at 16 PM, 30 officers will be deployed. The GM-Rio operation will begin at 13 PM and will focus on urban security and traffic control, especially on the main access roads to the venue, also assisting in dispersing the crowd after the event.
The operation for the MUSAL AirShow 2026 event will involve 120 agents, with 60 per day, also focusing on traffic support and urban security. Among the event's agents will be guards from the Special Operations Groups (GOE), Mobile Tactical Group (GTM), and Motorcycle Guards (GGM).
The GM-Rio teams will work to mitigate the impacts of traffic in the region and curb infractions, such as illegal parking and parking in front of garages, and petty crimes, such as the activities of informal parking attendants. GM-Rio will also give Showdog presentations (training demonstrations) and will carry out inclusion work with puppets, catering to children with special needs.
