CET-Rio informs that, starting at 8 am this Saturday (12/8), the intersection of Aristides Caire and Castro Alves streets, in Méier, will be closed for the second stage of the Rio-Águas Foundation's work on the underground gallery of Aristides Caire Street. To make the intervention possible, it will be necessary to close:

Streets closed on 4/8 (first stage)
–Aristides Caire Street, between Mossoró and Rio Grande do Sul streets
–Rio Grande do Sul Street, between Aristides Caire and Mossoró streets

Streets to be closed on 12/8 (second stage)
–Castro Alves Street, between Lucídio Lago and Heart of Mary streets
–Aristides Caire Street, between Castro Alves and Santa Fé streets

Signaling

Guidance lanes will be installed at strategic points to guide and alert drivers during the works. Traffic conditions will be monitored for potential impacts, and traffic light timings will be adjusted to improve flow on alternative routes and the region's main traffic corridors. The closure is expected to last for 40 days.

Detours – second stage

– Vehicles coming from Lucídio Lago Street, heading to the Castro Alves Viaduct or Aristides Caire Street (between Castro Alves and Santa Fé): Lucídio Lago Street, Torres Sobrinho Street, Captain Rezende Street, Cachambi Street, Captain Jesus Street, Heart of Mary Street, Santa Fé Street and Castro Alves Viaduct or Aristides Caire Street

– Vehicles belonging to residents of Rio Grande do Sul and Enéas Galvão Streets, coming from Lucídio Lago Street: Lucídio Lago Street, Torres Sobrinho Street, Captain Rezende Street, Cachambi Street, Captain Jesus Street, Heart of Mary Street, Tenente Costa Street, Mossoró Street and Rio Grande do Sul Street

– Vehicles belonging to residents of Rua Castro Alves (between Rua Lucídio Lago and Rua Aristides Caire) will be able to access the street by blocking Rua Lucídio Lago.

– Vehicles belonging to residents of Rua Castro Alves (between Rua Coração de Maria and Rua Aristides Caire) will be able to access the street by blocking Rua Castro Alves

Resident access

– Vehicles belonging to residents of Rua Castro Alves
I – (between Lucídio Lago and Aristides Caire streets) – you will be able to access the street at the blockade with Lucídio Lago Street
II – (between Coração de Maria and Aristides Caire streets) – you will be able to access the street at the blockade with Castro Alves Street

– Vehicles belonging to residents of Rua Aristides Caire (between Rua Castro Alves and Rua Santa Fé) will be able to access the street by blocking Rua Santa Fé

– Vehicles belonging to residents of Rua Enéas Galvão (access via Rua Capitão Rezende). Change already implemented in the first stage

The streets Aristides Caire, Castro Alves and Santa Fé will be regulated as two-way traffic, to allow access for residents during the works.

Direction hand reversal

I – Rua Rio Grande do Sul, in the section between Rua Mossoró and Rua Lucídio Lago, will operate in the opposite direction, from the first to the second.
II – Enéas Galvão Street will operate in the opposite direction along its entire length, from Capitão Rezende Street to Rio Grande do Sul Street

Parking ban

Parking of vehicles is prohibited until the end of the intervention on Rua Rio Grande do Sul, in the section between Rua Aristides Caire and Rua Enéas Galvão.

Access for residents' vehicles is permitted at the following points:
– Aristides Caire Street x Mossoró Street
– Rio Grande do Sul Street x Mossoró Street
– Aristides Caire Street x Captain Rezende Street
– Captain Rezende Street x Enéas Galvão Street

Two-way roads for residents to access, in the sections listed below:
– Aristides Caire Street, between Captain Rezende and Rio Grande do Sul Streets
– Rio Grande do Sul Street, between Mossoró and Aristides Caire Streets
