CET-Rio informs that, starting this Saturday (7/1), the side lane of Avenida Francisco Bicalho, towards Rodoviária Novo Rio, will be partially closed to traffic by Companhia Carioca de Parcerias e Investimentos (CCPAR), for the construction and expansion of the VLT railway line connecting to the Gentileza Intermodal Terminal. The closure will take place starting at 22 pm on Saturday and is expected to be completed before Carnival, in mid-February. The service will be carried out in two lanes along the right side of the road, in the section between Avenida Comandante Garcia Pires and Avenida Rodrigues Alves.
During the construction work, a lane will be installed on the left of the closed section of the road in order to mitigate the impacts and ensure traffic flow. CET-Rio recommends that drivers avoid the area. Bus station users with scheduled departure times should plan their journeys in advance and, if possible, use the VLT, which will not be impacted by the construction work.
