Between 8 am on Saturday (May 16th) and 8 pm on Sunday (May 17th), Maxwell Street will be closed in the direction of Andaraí, in the section between Uruguai Street and Barão de São Francisco Street. On Monday, the 18th, the closure will be partial in the same section and direction of the road.
During the closure period, vehicle traffic will be diverted via Rua Uruguai, Rua Barão de Vassouras, and Rua Barão de São Francisco, in the direction of Tijuca, returning to Rua Maxwell in the direction of Andaraí.
Residents of the region
Access for residents' vehicles in the area will be via a two-way traffic system on Maxwell Street, in the section between Uruguai Street and Barão de São Francisco Street.
Partial ban
From 8 am to 3 pm on Monday (May 18th), there will be alternating lane closures on the same stretch of Rua Maxwell, also in the direction of Andaraí.
Traffic monitoring will be carried out by traffic agents supervised by CET-Rio, who will guide drivers and pedestrians throughout the operation. Technicians at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio) will make adjustments to the traffic light programming in the area if necessary.
CET-Rio recommends the preferential use of public transportation and the use of alternative routes. Pedestrians should cross the street at safe and marked locations, respecting the instructions of traffic officers and the signage installed in the area.
