- Traffic will be altered in the Maracanã region for Fluminense vs. Vitória, this Saturday (09/05).
CET-Rio's operation will include road closures and parking restrictions in the area. Image: CET-Rio The Rio de Janeiro Traffic Engineering Company (CET-Rio) will implement a traffic operation this Saturday, May 9th, for the match between Fluminense and Vitória in the Brazilian Championship, which will take place at 6 PM at the Maracanã stadium. Starting at 3:30 PM, there will be traffic restrictions in the stadium area. In addition to areas where parking is prohibited, other streets will have parking restrictions starting at 10 AM on the day of the football match.
Traffic planning will include CET-Rio agents and traffic advisors, operational vehicles, and motorcycles dedicated to directing traffic. Furthermore, to reinforce traffic information, 13 variable message boards will provide information on closure times and alternative routes. The entire system works to promote road safety, smooth traffic flow, and maintain free intersections, as well as to guide pedestrians, fans, and drivers.
CET-Rio technicians, at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio), will monitor all traffic movement through cameras so that, if necessary, adjustments can be made to the traffic light schedule to ensure good road conditions.
