Rafael Mascarenhas Acoustic Tunnel - Marcos de Paula/City of Rio The Zuzu Angel and Acústico Rafael Mascarenhas tunnels will be closed this Wednesday (July 24th) in the direction of São Conrado, from 9:23 pm to 30:5 am, for tunnel maintenance work. The main alternative route is Avenida Niemeyer.
The Engenheiro Freyssinet (elevated over Avenida Paulo de Frontin) and Rufino Pizarro elevated roads will be closed in the South Zone direction from 23:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for maintenance work. Drivers will be able to use Avenida Paulo de Frontin as an alternative route and then the Rebouças Tunnel.
At all scheduled closures, specific signage will be installed to guide and alert drivers, and CET-Rio operators will monitor traffic conditions and, if necessary, take action. In addition, traffic light times will be adjusted to ensure fluidity on detour routes and on the main corridors in the regions.
The program may be suspended at any time due to weather conditions or operational issues in the city.
