Rafael Mascarenhas Acoustic Tunnel to be closed for renovation works - Marcos de Paula/City of Rio CET-Rio and the Municipal Infrastructure Department (SMI) inform that, this Monday (28/8), the Zuzu Angel and Acústico Rafael Mascarenhas tunnels will be closed, in the direction of São Conrado, from 22:30 pm to 5:30 am, for revitalization works in the galleries. The main option for detour is Avenida Niemeyer.
The Rebouças Tunnel will be closed, towards the Center, from 22 pm to 5 am, also for revitalization works. The galleries in the opposite direction will operate with one reversible lane (the one on the left), towards the Center, and two traffic lanes towards Lagoa.
Traffic conditions will be monitored for potential impacts. In addition, traffic light timings will be adjusted to improve fluidity on the diversion route and on the region's main corridors.
