Vice-President José Alencar Tunnel to be closed for maintenance - Archive/Rio City Hall The Rebouças Tunnel will be closed, starting at 10 PM this Tuesday (March 3rd), in the direction of Lagoa, for maintenance. Reopening is scheduled for 5 AM on Wednesday (March 4th). During the closure, vehicle traffic will follow a reversible lane to the left in the direction of the city center, operating towards the South Zone. The other two lanes will operate in the direction of the city center.
The Vice-President of the Republic José Alencar Tunnel will be closed, this Tuesday (March 3rd), in the direction of Santa Cruz, from 11 PM to 4 AM on Wednesday (March 4th), for maintenance. Vehicles heading towards Santa Cruz will be diverted via Serra da Grota Funda (Avenida Artur Xexéo). BRT buses heading to Santa Cruz should use the opposite tunnel lane. Buses that normally use the lane in the direction of Barra da Tijuca will continue on the common lane for all vehicles.
The lower deck of the Elevado das Bandeiras will be closed in the direction of São Conrado, from 11 pm this Tuesday (March 3rd) to 4:30 am on Wednesday (March 4th), for maintenance. The Barra da Tijuca-São Conrado connection will be made via the upper deck.
In all scheduled road closures, there will be specific signage to guide and alert drivers. CET-Rio operators will monitor traffic conditions and will intervene if necessary. In addition, traffic light timings will be adjusted to improve traffic flow on the detour route and main thoroughfares in the area.
