Rafael Mascarenhas Acoustic Tunnel - Marcos de Paula/City of Rio The Santa Bárbara Tunnel will be closed for maintenance, in the Santo Cristo direction, from 11:30 pm this Wednesday (January 21st) to 5 am on Thursday (January 22nd). The tunnel in the Laranjeiras direction will operate normally.
The Zuzu Angel and Acústico Rafael Mascarenhas tunnels will be closed, in the direction of São Conrado, during the early hours of Thursday morning, between 1 am and 5 am, for maintenance work. The main alternative route is Avenida Niemeyer, which will operate normally with two-way traffic.
Specific signage will be installed to guide and alert drivers. CET-Rio operators will be monitoring traffic conditions and will intervene if necessary. In addition, traffic light timings will be adjusted to improve traffic flow on the detour route and main corridors in the affected areas.
