Santa Bárbara Tunnel to reopen to full capacity this Wednesday

CET-Rio informs that this Wednesday (18/12), starting at 5:30 am, the Santa Bárbara Tunnel will be reopened at full capacity. The tunnel in the direction of Santo Cristo, which had one lane blocked since last Friday (13/12), will once again have vehicle circulation in its two lanes, reestablishing its full capacity for traffic flow. The agencies involved in the works being carried out in the tunnel and the Civil Defense made a new assessment and authorized full reopening to traffic.

Closing tonight

On Tuesday night (17/12), from 22 pm, the gallery in the Santo Cristo direction will be closed for work by construction teams, reopening at 5:30 am on Wednesday with all lanes open.

During the blockade hours, drivers are advised to use the Rebouças Tunnel or the route via Praia de Botafogo or Aterro do Flamengo.

In the direction of Laranjeiras, the tunnel will be operating normally, without any interference.
