- Cidade das Artes selects Civil Society Organization to raise funds for cultural projects under the Rouanet Law
The City of Arts, in Barra da Tijuca, will host a series of events during Rio2C. Photo: Press Release The Cidade das Artes Foundation is holding a public call for proposals to select a Civil Society Organization (CSO) to develop projects and raise funds, through the Rouanet Law, for projects at Rio's largest cultural complex. This partnership between the government and the CSO will support the cultural and infrastructure activities of the space and promote the democratization of public access to culture.
The organization must be a nonprofit organization with recognized experience and a proven track record of approving, funding, and implementing cultural projects developed through tax incentive mechanisms. Proposals and qualifying documents must be submitted by September 8th at 14 p.m. at Cidade das Artes (Avenida das Américas, 5.300, Barra da Tijuca).
The Cultural Incentive Law (Law No. 8.313/91), known as the Rouanet Law, allows companies and individuals to allocate part of their Income Tax to approved cultural projects, encouraging cultural production in the country.
