– In a scenario marked by new demands for transparency and the advancement of digital technologies, the meeting strengthens the culture of integrity in public administration. With a diverse program throughout the day, the congress seeks to broaden the dialogue between public and private institutions on strategic themes for public governance – says Rodrigo Corrêa, Municipal Secretary of Integrity and Transparency (SMIT).
The Congress will be attended by municipal authorities, representatives of the legislative and judicial branches. Following the schedule, the first panel discussion will address the relationship between transparency and democracy, examining the execution of resources and parliamentary amendments with the participation of members of the CGU (Brazilian Comptroller General's Office), FGV (Getúlio Vargas Foundation), and organizations such as Transparency International and Fiquem Sabendo (a Brazilian news outlet).
Following this, the congress will address the interface between public and private integrity, discussing whether regulatory requirements in public procurement represent a challenge or a competitive advantage for companies. This panel will include representatives from the CGU (Brazilian Comptroller General's Office), Petrobras, Ocyan, and the OAB-RJ (Brazilian Bar Association - Rio de Janeiro chapter). The final panel will be dedicated to a topic of growing social relevance: the protection of personal data with a focus on the safety of children and adolescents in the digital environment, bringing together experts from the National Data Protection Authority, the Alana Institute, and InternetLab. The event is held in partnership with the Municipal Secretariats of Metropolitan Integration and the Civil House, the Municipal Attorney General's Office, and the Secretariat of Culture.
