A joint operation by the South Zone Subprefecture and the Municipal Secretariat of Public Order (SEOP) removed an illegal occupation in Jardim de Alah, Leblon, this Tuesday (September 15). During the action, a 41-year-old man was identified with an outstanding arrest warrant for the crime of theft and taken to the 14th Police Station.

The operation resulted in the clearing of the road and the recovery of four traffic cones belonging to CET-Rio (Rio de Janeiro's traffic management company) and one wastepaper basket belonging to Comlurb (Rio de Janeiro's municipal cleaning company). Three temporary barriers, three mattresses, three umbrellas, and a tarp were also seized at the site.

The objective of the operation is to clear sidewalks, ensure accessibility, and guarantee the right of pedestrians to move freely. The initiative is part of an ongoing schedule of inspections in the region.

"This is an ongoing effort aimed at promoting a culture of order and respect for public spaces. We will continue to work together to ensure a more organized, accessible, and safe area for everyone," stated the sub-mayor of the South Zone, Pedro Angelito.

The operation was supported by agents from the Municipal Guard, the Municipal Department of Social Assistance, Comlurb (the city's waste management company), and military police officers from the 23rd Battalion.
