Municipal guards from the Canine Operations Group (GOC) of the Rio Municipal Guard conducted a K9 Pre-Hospital Care (APH K9) course for military personnel from the Marine Corps War Dog Company between April 28th and 30th. The training took place at the unit's headquarters in the Penha neighborhood, in the North Zone of Rio.

The training focused on preparing security and defense operators who act as dog handlers to provide first aid and stabilize animals in emergency situations, up to the point of referral for specialized care.

During the three days of instruction, participants received theoretical and practical content on canine anatomy and emergency care protocols. In addition to the GM-Rio team, the course included the participation of a member of the corporation's own military police, who taught a class on canine anatomy using an ultrasound device, one of the course's new features.

The course was conducted by instructors from the GM-Rio Kennel, including a veterinarian from the corporation and a veterinary assistant and instructor in pre-hospital care and K9 pre-hospital care.
