Arraiá celebrates culture and mental health in Engenho de Dentro.

On July 17th (Friday), from 14 PM to 22 PM, Engenho de Dentro will host one of the most anticipated events on the Mental Health calendar of the North Zone: the Arraiá Cai na Roça, at Praça Rio Grande do Norte. The event is promoted by the Nise da Silveira Municipal Institute and organized by the Trilhos do Engenho Community and Culture Center. The festival involves various services from the Rio de Janeiro Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS) and the community.

 

The Arraiá, which celebrates popular culture, has become a traditional space for meeting, interaction, and social inclusion. The public can enjoy the attractions, DJ, live music, and typical foods that will be for sale at the income-generating stalls – many of them run by users of mental health services, but also with participation from the community.

 

One of the highlights will be the third edition of the square dance competition, complete with a jury and prizes. The competition involves nine registered mental health services, including CAPS (Psychosocial Care Centers), CAPSi (Child and Adolescent Psychosocial Care Centers), and an outpatient clinic.

 

The official design for the event was chosen through a contest held by CECO Trilhos do Engenho with the participation of RAPS. This year, the winner was Wellington Lutterbach, who is part of the Ateliê dos Artistas Nômades of the Ponto de Cultura Loucura Suburbana: Engenho, Arte e Folia. The title of the work is: “The Accordion Player in Love with the Bride”.

 

– I made a June festival tree, I put faces, a beard and ribbons on it, symbolizing the festival, and I created the wedding bride, with a bonfire to give it a festive air, with the country bumpkin playing the accordion showing that he is in love with the bride – explains the artist, emotional about the victory.

 

The 14th Arraiá Cai na Roça is open to the public of all ages and promises to unite culture, music, art, and affection.
