The overall scenario presented maintains the prospect of fiscal stability - Marcos de Paula / Rio City Hall The Municipal Finance Department presented on Tuesday (June 2nd), at the Rio de Janeiro City Council, the main parameters that will guide the preparation of the Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) for the fiscal year 2027. Promoted by the Finance, Budget and Financial Oversight Committee, the public hearing was conducted by the Secretary of Finance, Andrea Senko, the Executive Superintendent of the Budget, Misael Maia, and included the participation of the technical team responsible for preparing the budget projections.
During the presentation, the macroeconomic criteria used to estimate revenue availability and define spending limits that will serve as the basis for the construction of the municipal budget were detailed. The Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) acts as a link between the Multi-Year Plan (PPA), which establishes the medium-term planning of the public administration, and the Annual Budget Law (LOA), responsible for detailing the application of public resources in each fiscal year.
In the area of revenue, the projection for 2027 indicates growth in current revenues, the municipality's main source of income, estimated at approximately R$ 736 million compared to the 2026 Budget Law. The overall scenario presented maintains the prospect of fiscal stability, with few variations in the overall structure of municipal revenues.
The proposed Budget Guidelines Law will be voted on this month in the municipal legislature. The Annual Budget Law (LOA) project, which will detail revenues and expenditures for 2027, will be submitted up to three months before the end of the fiscal year and returned for approval before the end of the legislative session.
