The Rio de Janeiro Traffic Engineering Company (CET-Rio) will implement a special traffic scheme this Monday (January 19th) to allow for the continuation of flood control works carried out by the Rio-Águas Foundation in Realengo, in the city's West Zone.

Santa Cruz Avenue will be closed between Cardoso Martins Street and Imperatriz Street. During the works, traffic will be diverted via Cardoso Martins Street, which will have its direction of traffic reversed. Drivers can then continue along Bernardo de Vasconcelos Street, returning to Imperatriz Street and Santa Cruz Avenue. The road is expected to reopen on February 19th, after the completion of the works. Only residents' vehicles will be allowed to access the closed section.

Technicians from CET-Rio, at the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio), will monitor all traffic movement through cameras so that, if necessary, adjustments can be made to the traffic light programming, with the aim of ensuring good traffic conditions.

CET-Rio recommends that drivers use alternative routes during the construction period and emphasizes the importance of paying attention to the installed signage and the instructions of traffic officers.
