Public competition for Municipal Security Manager opens registration on Monday

The position requires a completed higher education degree. The public selection process for the position of Municipal Security Manager, affiliated with the Municipal Secretariat of the Civil House (CVL), is being released today by the Municipal Secretariat of Administration (SMA). The position requires a completed higher education degree. Of the total vacancies offered, 20% are reserved for Black and Indigenous candidates and 5% for candidates with disabilities. Applications will be open from Monday until October 28, 2025, and must be done online.
The Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) will be responsible for implementing the competition, under the supervision of the SMA (Spanish Ministry of Security). The competition will be valid for two years and may be extended for the same period. The selection process includes objective and discursive tests, followed by an oral exam, an assessment of educational background and academic qualifications, a medical and psychological examination, a social and criminal investigation, and enrollment in the Municipal Security Manager Training Course, offered by the City of Rio.
The Municipal Security Manager will have exclusive dedication and will be responsible for creating, conducting, evaluating and reviewing the municipal public security policy, in coordination with other City Hall bodies.
